SARA
Czechmate Serendipity
Sara is from the Win X Sonic litter and she is a combination of some of my very favorite lines of Border Collies . . .
Some of the dogs that I first fell in love with were Becky Beckman's DC Magic Mowtion TD and then her lovely red dog, CH Spot HXAs  -- these dogs are Sara's paternal great grandparents. Her paternal grandsire, Blazin Kane HXAs HSBs is line bred on another dog that I admire, Terry Parrish's Rhys.
Both of Sara's parents are talented and stylish on sheep so I have pretty big expectations for her :)

Sara is continuing to mature into a very lovely girl.
She has started training in agility as well as herding and is doing very well at both.

On March 2, 2008, she earned her first major along with a Best of Breed under Judge Norman Herbel at the show in West Allis (Milwaukee) WI.

Sara now has 6 points towards her CH.
A few words about Sara's color . . .
As the pictures above illustrate, Sara is a rather unusual and interesting color.
She is NOT a black tricolor . . . she is a black-shaded sable :)
I know many of you may find that hard to believe, but there has been new genetic research into the coat color of dogs and it has been determined that there is a recessive way to make a black dog!
The presence of the "mask" on Sara's face as well as the banded hairs of her topcoat are all genetic evidence of Sara's true color.
Sara's mom, Win, is also a black shaded sable, as is Wager, Win's full brother.
I suspect that MOST of the border collies that have been identified as "black tricolor" are actually black-shaded sable!!! "True" tricolors would have very distinct spots of tan (like those on a Bernese Mtn Dog)
WIN
Sara and Apache as puppies.
Both dogs are black-shaded sables.
WAGER
Sara gets to do some fun things too :) Here are a few shots of her learning to track.
She's doing quite well at it -- she's a natural like her mom, grandma and great grandma!!
